Master Farrier
Starting his career as a Farrier in 1999, Erin was awarded Apprentice of the Year before going on to build his own successful farrier business in the Hills & Hawkesbury region of NSW.
A dedicated family man, raising four young boys with his wife Courtney on a 170-acre farm in rural NSW. Erin still runs his professional farrier business and writes regular horse owner education articles on hoof care in an equine magazine.
Erin has a strong focus on continued education both as a farrier and business owner. This has led him to opportunities of working with Equine Veterinarians using the latest technology and products to provide solutions to therapeutic shoeing cases.
He believes in a team approach with the owner, vet and farrier on board to reach the best outcome for the horse and the ongoing management of the case. He also values and encourages client feedback to streamline his business practices and to maintain long-term soundness for the horses he works on.

Erin’s latest contribution to the farrier industry in Australia is embarking on the journey to create an annual conference for farriers known as The Australian Farriers’ Conference. The inaugural conference held in Wisemans Ferry NSW in 2018, and then on the Gold Coast in 2019.
Inspired by his attendance at the International Hoof Care Summit in Cincinnati, Ohio, Erin felt a united front for Australian Farriers was lacking and Australia’s farriery industry would benefit from events which enabled networking opportunities, continued education and exposure to the latest, tools, techniques and research.

giving back
Erin is passionate about supporting and improving the Farrier Industry in Australia and regularly finds time to support and volunteer his time to do so.
He is currently the Vice President of the International Association of Professional Farriers (IAPF) Australia, as well as teaching Farrier Apprentices Certificate IV in Farriery at TAFE NSW.
Co-Founding the Australian Farriers’ Conference, is a continued project in partnership with wife, Courtney. Annually run, the conference is the first of its kind in
Australia attracting Farriers from all over the country to exchange ideas, learn new business and technical skills, and create a unique networking platform.
It’s a great way of giving back to the farrier industry and provides great joy to Erin doing so whilst providing an opportunity to improve skills of other farriers and protect the welfare of horses.
My Family
Erin and his wife Courtney have recently relocated to live on a 80 acre farm in Southbrook QLD raising their 4 boys and run a few head of cattle.
Their herd of horses includes 3 stock horses and 3 ponies which take on many roles from companionship to mustering the cattle – have all been relocated with them.
Each horse has their story and we hope one day they can all join us on our ‘Big Lap on Horseback’ adventure around Australia.
The family are looking forward to exploring their new community, it’s National Parks, trails and nature whether it be on horseback or trail bikes.
